William Bernard Anderson

July 3, 1940 — November 16, 2018

William Bernard Anderson passed away Friday, Nov.16, 2018 after a period of declining health at his home in Dinwiddie county. Bernard was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, graduated from Stony Creek High School and was a member of Riverfield Hunt Club with his family. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army reserves and retired from Verizon with 34 years of service as a cable splicer. After retiring Bernard, together with his wife, raised horses, cows and other animals. Bernard enjoyed gardening, hearing his dogs give chase and fishing in the Nottoway river and a slow pace of life in the country. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Abner and Margaret Anderson, his brothers John P. And Robert W. Anderson, his uncles Willie and Bennie Anderson and aunt Sally. Bernard is survived by his loving wife Katherine, his aunt Mary Jane Redman, his sons Chris Anderson (Cindy) and Brian Anderson (Jennifer); granddaughter Raven Anderson (Kyle); grandson, Cole Elder; great granddaughter Rylee Walston and numerous nieces and cousins and best friend James Winfield. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 28 at Concord United Methodist Church. A reception will follow in the church social hall.
