Thomas "Tommy" Wynne Short, Sr.

Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Wynne Short, Sr., 88, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024.

Tommy is survived by his son, Thomas W. Short, Jr. (Susan Hudgins-Short); daughters, Kim Clarke (Wilson Clary) and Karen Kee (Jerry Kee); stepson, Troy Reickard; stepdaughters, Tammy Jasper (Eric Jasper) and Teresa Ferguson (Clay Ferguson); grandchildren, Thomas W. Short, III (Jennifer), Kadison Clarke (Olivia), Marcella Watson, Lauren Watson, Whitney Finley (Andrew) and Tyler Kee (Jamie); step-grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Amber Jackson, Tyler Ferguson and Tori Ferguson and great-grandchildren, Kaelyn Short, Nicholas McClelland, Cohen Clarke, Mia Trujillo and Bennett Kee.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella McBride Short, former wife, Janice Short and special friend, Betty Melton, brother, Richard Howard Short, Jr. and a grandson, Jonathan Abernathy.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 9 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the funeral service will held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10. Interment will follow at Emporia Cemetery.
