Susan Moss Gordon

February 17, 1960 — January 8, 2025

Susan M. Gordon, 64, of Emporia, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Mable Moss, She was also preceded in death by her brother, Mike Moss.

Susan was a loving mother and grandmother and she dearly loved all animals. She was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church and she retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Susan is survived by her daughters, Amanda Gordon (Chad Turner) and Christel Gordon (Wade Kitchen), son, J. C. Gordon; grandchildren, Lexi Turner (Joseph), Hailey Gardner, Zoey Turner, Jase Turner, Abby Gordon, Brooks Letters. She is also survived by her devoted companion, James Tucker; and his family, James “Tuck” Stamie Tucker, Mary and Brodie May, Jason and Jennifer, Lillian and William McClintock, Alie Whitby, Jessie (Astra), Emmerlyn, Oakleigh, Daylan, Addie, Emma, Veah and Brayden; a sister, Beverly Moss and her former husband, Jeff Gordon.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 14 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia. The family will receive friends 1 – 2 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity.
