Rosa "Rose" W. Poarch

Rosa “Rose” W. Poarch, 84, of Stony Creek passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Roland and Ruby Vaughan Watkins and was also preceded in death by a half-brother, Wiliam Watkins.

Rose is survived by her husband, James Emerson Poarch, Jr., two daughters, Dixie Banton (David Adams) and Debra Edell (Dean); two sons, James Lee Banton (Betsy) and Michael Poarch (Valerie); five grandchildren, Brittany Geiling (Geoff), Rebecca Lucado (Coleman), Justin Edell (Christina Bui), Kendall Edell and Tyler Edell; two great-grandchildren, Samuel Bear Geiling and Emerson Rose Geiling and a brother, Robert Watkins.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd., Jarratt, Virginia where the family will receive friends prior to the service 12:30-2 p.m. Interment will follow at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Concord United Methodist Church, c/o Dale Hawkins, 19704 Courthouse Rd, Dinwiddie, VA 23841.
