Peter J. Brucato, Jr.

Peter John Brucato, Jr., 73, passed away Friday, March 13, 2020. He was a Telecommunications Analyst with AT&T where he was on the design team that developed the 1-800 system for telephones. Born in New York, he made his home in Milltown, NJ for many years where he was an active member of the community serving as councilman and on the Milltown, N.J. Planning Board. He had served as President of Greater New Brunswick Exchange Club and was active in youth sports as a former coach and served on the Board of Directors with Milltown Little League, and St. Bart’s Buffalos Pop Warner Football. He also was a former member of Parkland Community Bocci and Pinochle Club.
Peter was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as an E-5 crew chief with 1st Air Cavalry and afterward with The New York National Guard in the 42nd Aviation Division.
He was an avid sports fan; in particular of the New York Giants, the New York Yankees, St. John’s University Basketball and FSU Seminoles. His greatest joy came in spending time with his family, golfing with his sons and playing Pinochle. He loved making his grandchildren laugh with his antics and very corny jokes.
Peter is survived by his wife of 44 years, Angela Brucato; three sons, Peter J. Brucato, III of Milltown, NJ; Philip Brucato and wife, Christina and their children, Samantha and Nicole; Joseph Brucato and wife, Louise and their children, Luca and Martha; daughter, Anna Cmil and husband, Daniel and their daughter, Titania.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 18 at Church of the Sacred Heart, 9300 Community Lane, South Prince George, VA 23805. Interment with military rites will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Lewis Family Cemetery, Reed Rd, Stony Creek, Virginia 23882.
