Pauline S. Kennedy

Pauline S. Kennedy, 92, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Kennedy, Jr.

Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her daughter, Veatrice “Vickie” Kennedy Blackwell and her family; granddaughters, Sara N. McLean (Ray), Shelby L. Emerson (Kaleb); and great-grandchildren, Ray McLean, Jr. (Mattie), Dixie L. McLean (Jesse), RayLynne Fleshman and great-great-grandson, Winston; Her son, Barry L. Kennedy (Rebecca) and family, grandsons, Sean M. Kennedy (Inamay), Ryan P. Kennedy (Kaitlyn) and great-granddaughter, Charlotte Kennedy.

Pauline’s faith and her family were most important in her life. She was an active lifelong member of Sappony Baptist Church where she worked in every aspect of church life, serving when and wherever she could. In her retirement, she also volunteered at Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center.

The funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, April 14 at Sappony Baptist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Kennedy Family Cemetery.

After the graveside committal service, the family will continue the Celebration of Life for Mrs. Kennedy in the church social hall.
