Melanie Jarratt Topping, 50, of Emporia, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019. She is survived by her husband, Michael “Mic” Topping; son, Tyler Topping; her parents, C.D. & Anita Jarratt; brother, Charles Jarratt (Jessica); sister, Cristina Link (Chris); sister-in-law, Patsy Ward (Jill Brunstad), nieces, Chelsea Daniels (Jade), Blake Jarratt and Christy Ward Pita (Jim); nephews, Austin Link, Jackson Link, Daniel Brunstad; great-nephews, Forrest & Gage Daniels and Bryce & Brodie Pita. Melanie also leaves behind her beloved canine companion, Abby.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 23 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd., Jarratt, Virginia.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 at Calvary Baptist Church, 310 N. Main St., Emporia, Virginia. Interment will follow at Emporia Cemetery.
