Mary Lou Taylor "Beckey" Presson

Mary Lou Taylor “Beckey” Presson, 85, of Emporia, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Letcher and Ida Rook Taylor. Beckey was also preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Presson; son, Randy T. Presson; her daughter, Sherri P. Wells and sisters, Peggy T. Harrell and Sadie T. Jean.

Beckey is survived by her daughter, Sharron Leigh Runion; five grandchildren, Bryan Carter, Brandon Presson, Ashley Hall, Kristen Myrick and Nicholas Wells; nine great-grandchildren, sister, Bonnie T. Wright (Mike); brother, Robert Earl Taylor (Karen); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 25 at Forest Hill Baptist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Forest Hill Baptist Church, 2103 Pine Log Rd, Skippers, Virginia 23879 or to Gentiva Hospice, (Gentiva Foundation, 595 Old Wagner Rd, Petersburg, Virginia 23805.)
