Marguerite Good Mangum, 95, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayland Mangum; her son, Wayne Mangum, a daughter, Sandra Wynn, a grandson, Dennis Mangum and a son-in-law, Artie Elliott.
Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Faye Elliott (Charles); daughter-in-law, Gene Mangum; grandchildren, Melissa Morgan (Jason), Jonathan Mangum (Sharon), Lorina Wynn (Zachery), Ansley Wynn, and Justin Adams (Kathryn); eight beloved great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; five beloved sitters, Cookie Gordon, Lottie Gordon, Cindy Featherstun, Linda Lundy, and Denise Futrell; and her hairdresser and special friend, June Walker.
After dedicating 38 years of work at Weldon Mills and retiring, Marguerite enjoyed the garden club, the red hat society, and volunteering at the hospital. She was also a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church where she had a church family whom she grew to love deeply. She was known for her vibrant and contagious smile, passion for traveling, and love for her family and friends. She embraced life’s journey traveling and loving every minute of life.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the High Hills Church Cemetery.
