Judy Kay Warf Houchins

Judy Kay Warf Houchins, 73, of Stony Creek departed this earthly life to her heavenly home surrounded by friends and family on Monday, December 23, 2024.

She was a lifelong resident of Stony Creek, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents Louis Ivey and Emily Jolly Warf; and nephew Allen Harvey.

She is survived by her daughter Kristine Thompson (Chris); her brother James Lacy Warf (Pat); two granddaughters Lauren Andes (James) and Heather Perry (Jay); niece Kelly Harvey; nephew Kenny Warf (Jamie); and her beloved dog Cocoa.

Judy was a lifelong member of Sappony Baptist Church.  She enjoyed spending time with a special group of friends.  She had a love for line-dancing and was an avid softball player and coach for many years.  Judy was thankful for the love and support of her “Bubba” James Lacy.  Judy was very proud of her two granddaughters, and it gave her great pleasure watching them play sports and cheering them on from the sidelines.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Owen Funeral Home Chapel, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, VA 23867. Internment will immediately follow at the Salem United Methodist Church cemetery, 19312 Templeton Rd, Carson, VA 23830.  The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m at Owen Funeral Home prior to the service.
