Johnny F. Bain

Johnny Bain passed away on December 26th after a short illness. He was well known and loved throughout his home of Dinwiddie County and could be counted on for a friendly wave as you passed him on any back road. He was preceded in death by his parents John Francis Bain Sr. and Ruby Abernathy Bain and his loving wife of 40 wonderful years, Debbie Lewis Bain. He is survived by his children Erin and Andrew (Chris) and his sister Bonnie Sue Thompson (Dennis). Johnny had a soft spot in his heart for dogs and took in many canine companions over the years. He loved traveling with his family for baseball games and concerts and his beard often had people questioning if he was actually a member of ZZ Top. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in his name to either the Southside SPCA at PO Box 66, Meherrin, VA 23954 or the Debbie Bain Scholarship Fund - 19605 Bain Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, December 30 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
