John Kanusek

John “Johnny” Kanusek, III, 65, of Disputanta, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018. He was the son of the late John and Florence Kanusek. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was a retired farmer and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patsy Barnes Kanusek; two daughters, Rebecca Kanusek Mobley (Brian) and Jennifer Kanusek Burke; four grandchildren, Brandon Mobley, Megan Burke, Andrew Mobley and Brooke Mobley; two sisters, Carol Moody (Jerry) and Elizabeth Kanusek; a brother, James Kanusek (Sandy); father-in-law, Paul Barnes and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 30 at Readville Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church social hall immediately after the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Readville Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 11093 Dove Lane, Stony Creek, Virginia 23882.
