Jean R. Fannin

Jean R. Fannin, 83, of Stony Creek, widow of John R. “Dickie” Fannin, Sr., passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017. She was the daughter of the late J. M. Rogers, Sr. and Louise Crawford Parsons. She was also preceded in death by a son, John R. “Ricky” Fannin, Jr.; a brother, J. M. “Preacher” Rogers, Jr. and a sister, Shirley R. Cox. Mrs. Fannin is survived by a son, James Crawford “Jimmy” Fannin and wife, Phyllis; daughter, Carolyn Louise Fannin; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and devoted caregivers and friends, April Jones and Anne Grant. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8 at Southlawn Memorial Park in Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Fort Grove United Methodist Church, 12471 Church St, Stony Creek, Virginia 23882.
