James Jay Shanko, Jr.

Mr. James Jay Shanko, Jr., 92, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021. He was the son of the late James and Viola Shanko and was also preceded in death by Anna M. Rowlands Shanko, his wife of 38 years and Eileen Wente Shanko, his second wife and two sisters, Eunice Shanko Carter and Elsie Shanko Wash.

Jay is survived by his wife, Christine Shanko; two sons, James J. Shanko, III, and John M. Shanko (Patti); two daughters, Jana M. Carlton (Steve) and Judy A. Willis (David); a granddaughter, Lindsay Carlton and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, September 2 at Yale Seventh- day Adventist Church. Interment in the church cemetery will be private.
