James "Buddy" Poarch, Jr.

Buddy went home to with the Lord on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. He was 74 years old. He was preceded n death by his parents, James P. Poarch, Sr. and Lillie Poarch; a brother, Bobby Poarch and a sister, Shirley Williams. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Blair Padgett and three Fur Babies, “Punkin”, “Sweet Pea” and “Slinky”.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dreama; daughter, Sherry Padgett (Michael); grandson, Hunter Padgett, granddaughter, Brianna Padgett; his Fur Baby, Harley and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Buddy worked at Brown and Williamson Tobacco for twenty years and he retired from American Filtrona after 23 years service. He was an avid hunter and served as president of his hunt club for 35 years.

Buddy was a Christian and a member of two churches, Monumental Baptist Church in Petersburg and Woodlawn Baptist Church in Hopewell. He was a fanatic about Dodge trucks and loved fishing. He loved the Outer Banks in North Carolina and Gatlinburg, TN. He will be eternally loved and missed until we see him again in Heaven And We Will.

At his request there will not be a family visitation or funeral service.
