Hugh Patrick Mayes

·                           Mr. Hugh P. Mayes, 75, of Yale, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024. He was the son of the late Lewis and Elaine Mayes and was also preceded in death by his brother, Wamer Mayes, nephew, Wamer Jr, sister, Dottie Mayes, niece, Sylvia Norris and nephew, Walter Upton.

He was the Pastor at Shiloh Baptist Church       .

Hugh is survived by his wife, Carol Mayes; stepdaughter, Karen Stemann (Robert); sister, Pattie M. Upton; sister-in-law, Kathleen Mayes and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, September 13 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 18310 Halifax Rd, Carson, Virginia 23830. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church social hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Owen Funeral Home to help offset expenses.
