Helen Virginia Finney

Helen Virginia “Gin” Finney, retired corporate secretary and auditor of The Bank of Southside Virginia, passed away in her home on Wednesday, October 18th at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her mother, Daisy Horne Finney; her father, Walter Frederick Finney; her sister, Dorothy Finney Hall; and her niece, Cathy Hall Lewis. She is survived by her beloved aunt Helen Horne and her beloved cousin Charles China (Paula). Gin is also survived by her nieces Judy Hall Parker (Tommy), Joan Hall Nichols (Bill), Connie Hall Grissom, Anita Hall Anderson (John), Allison Hall Kindred (Larry), and twenty-two great nieces and nephews.
Gin was a lifelong and dedicated member of High Hills Baptist Church in Jarratt, Virginia, where she served for many years as a Sunday school teacher and Treasurer. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at High Hills Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the church from 1 to 2 o’clock preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to High Hills Baptist Church Memorial Fund or Crater Community Hospice in Petersburg, Virginia.
