George B. Edwards

George B. Edwards, 90, of Emporia, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. He was the son of the late Irvin and Sarah Edwards and was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Louise W. Edwards; wife, Daisy H. Edwards; son, Steven Wayne Edwards; stepdaughter, Cindy V. Murphy; brothers, Milton J. Edwards, Irvin W. “Junie’ Edwards, Jr. and Charles L. “Lenny” Edwards.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Luenette House-Edwards; son, I. Dwight Edwards (Gail); daughters, Connie Edwards-Malosky (Paul) and Stacy Lynn Edwards; stepdaughters, Judy English and Betsy Corley and stepson, Mike Veliky; step-grandchildren, Robbie, Sarah, Ashley, Shannon and Alec; sister, Frances M. Chaffin; brother, Robert W. Edwards and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Edwards was a lifelong member of Adams Grove Baptist Church where he served in numerous capacities throughout the years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from VDOT as a Maintenance Supervisor.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, August 30 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Greensville Memorial Cemetery.
