Elizabeth "Betsy" Bobbitt Nicholson

Elizabeth “Betsy” Bobbitt Nicholson, 77, widow of Stuart Forrest Nicholson, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Sallie Rogers Bobbitt and Linwood Derby Bobbitt and was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Bobbitt Jarratt and husband, J. B. and brother, Linwood Turman Bobbitt and wife, Freida.
Mrs. Nicholson was a lifetime member of Sharon United Methodist Church where she participated in all activities leading by example and helping wherever she could. A true homemaker, she was a loving mother and grandmother and worked tirelessly to assist in any way she could and keep her family together.
Betsy is survived by her daughter, Debbie N. Dunn and husband, Woody of Yale; sons, Ed Nicholson and wife, Karen of Hurricane, WV and David W. Nicholson of Windsor; special children, Curt Bobbitt and wife, Kathy Sue of Bakersfield, CA, Cathy Bobbitt of Virginia Beach, Susan Creed of Yale and Judy Harrell and husband, Chris of Yale; grandchildren, Joshua Nicholson and friend, Cheryl and Ashley Nicholson, Marshall Dunn and wife, Holly, Ryan Dunn, Phillip Nicholson and fiancée, Jessica, and Stuart Nicholson; two great-grandchildren, Leanna Dunn and Emma Gayle Nicholson; brother-in-law, Ronnie Nicholson and wife, Kay and sister-in-law, Ann Tomko and husband, Jimmy.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, June 16 at Sharon United Methodist Church. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at Betsy’s home and at a reception in the church social hall immediately following the service.
