Elijah "Jack" Jackson Davis, Jr.

We are sad to announce the passing of Elijah Jackson Davis Jr of Jarratt, Va. He was born on March 1, 1948 and died at the age of 75 on April 26, 2023. Elijah passed away surrounded by his loved ones after a brief illness.

Elijah was preceded in death by his parents Elijah J. Davis Sr and Huldia K. Davis, and one son Elijah J. Davis III. Elijah is survived by his daughters, Cornelia Turner (Lennie) and Samantha Barrow; granddaughters Me’Chelle Morris and Kailee Phillips; grandsons Kevin Phillips Jr and Xavier Turner; great grandson Maximus Morris and great granddaughter Helena Morris; three sisters Carolyn Wrenn (Harlan), Sue Gammon and Ruth Crowder (Billy) and a number of nieces and nephews.

Elijah served briefly in the Army and returned home to work at Georgia Pacific. He continued to work there until his retirement. Elijah enjoyed hunting and fishing on the river. Elijah was a member of Jarratt Hunt Club for many years where he created lasting relationships in the community. Elijah enjoyed spending time eating breakfast and lunch at different places in the community with friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at Jarratt Hunt Club 2585 Orion Rd Jarratt, VA 23867 on May 21, 2023 at 2pm. Fellowship to follow.
