Dianne Barnes Fleming

Mrs. Dianne Barnes Fleming 73, of McKenney Virginia passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023.  She was the daughter of the late Robert Scott Barnes of Stony Creek, VA.

She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Roy Keith Fleming; daughter Kristi Thrift Porterfield (Stuart), two grandchildren Caroline Scott Porterfield and Stuart Miller Porterfield, Jr. all of Richmond, Virginia; Sister-in-law Carol Fleming Webster (Richard) of Dinwiddie; brother-in-law Lawrence Clyde Fleming (Christie) of McKenney; Three loving nieces and a nephew; Elizabeth Webster Majewski (Richard) of Richmond VA, Rebecca Webster Ball (Casey) of Virginia Beach, VA; Lauren Marie Fleming and William Roy Fleming of McKenney VA; Two great nieces; Addison Emmaline Ball and Avery Elizabeth Ball of Virginia Beach, VA.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Scott Barnes of Stony Creek, VA.

Dianne retired from Dinwiddie Social Services Department where she served for over thirty years.  She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church.  She loved spending time with friends and family and was happiest at the lake house she shared with her husband.  She was an excellent cook and was always there to help family and friends when needed.  She was best known for her sassiness and her spirit of life.  She will be missed by many.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 20  from 6 to 8 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Road, Jarratt, VA.  A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday September 21, 2023 at the family cemetery located at 6537 Henderson Road, Stony Creek, VA 23882.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the SPCA or the American Cancer Society.
