David Allie Spiers

Mr. David Allie Spiers, Sr., 77, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021. He was the son of the late Lawrence Edward and Dorothy Poole Spiers and was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Spiers Fleming; brother, Emmett Frank Spiers; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bowden and brother-in-law, Neal Conwell.

He was a VDOT highway construction inspector for 33 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his sons and grandchildren.

Mr. Spiers is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mildred Conwell Spiers; sons, David Allie Spiers, Jr. (Tina) and Gary Lawrence Spiers (Tanya); grandchildren, Brandon Spiers, Megan Spiers, Morgan Spiers, Anna Spiers and Amber Bailey (Matt); two great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Edward (Sonny) Spiers, Jr. (Mary); brothers-in-law, Howard Conwell, Earl Conwell (Diane), Wilson Conwell (Pat) and Larry Conwell; sisters-in-law, Eloise Stahl (Steve) and Sheila Conwell (Rick Pirkey) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held graveside 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 2 at Manson’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, 17211 Mansons Church Rd., Mckenney, Virginia.
