David A. Grizzard

David A. Grizzard, 85, of Emporia, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019. He was the son of the late Franklin and Winifred Grizzard and was also preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Lee Grizzard and a grandson, Brandon Punzalan.
Mr. Grizzard is survived by his former wife, Jean Grizzard; three daughters, Nancy G. Rose (Norman), Tracy G. Fox (Clarence) and Christy G. Punzalan; son, David Scott Grizzard (Amy); seven grandchildren, Christopher Rose (Jenn), Jonathan David Fox, Collin M. Fox, Ashley Nicole Punzalan, Taylor Marie Punzalan; Harrison David Grizzard and Emma Claire Grizzard; great-grandchildren, Penelope Clementine Rose, Eamon Sawyer Rose, Deklan and Quinn Cauthorne; longtime devoted friend Hazel Stallings, and sister-in-law, Lois S. Grizzard.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd., Jarratt, Virginia. Interment will follow at High Hills Memorial Cemetery.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love and care shown to David in his later days by the nurses and caregivers at the Eugene H. Bloom Retirement Center.
