Charner Rush Lifsey Jr., a proud and loving father, known by his family and friends as Chuck, of Emporia, went home to the Lord on March 31, 2024 at the age of 65. He was preceded in death by his father, Charner Rush Lifsey and mother, Estelle Davis Lifsey, both of Emporia. He is survived by his son, Charner “Rush” Lifsey III, (Kate) of Virginia Beach, sisters Linda Lifsey of Leesburg and Carolyn Powers (Rick) of Emporia, and nephews Corey (Heather) and Crae Daniels, both of Emporia, 2 great-nephews and 1 great-niece, and many other family members.
He graduated from Greensville County High School in 1976 and attended Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. He sold and serviced insurance for 45 years. A man of Faith, he is also leaving on this earth his congregation at Centenary United Methodist Church in Jarratt. His lifelong devotion to giving back to others in his community will forever be remembered with his services to the Boy Scouts of America and the Greensville Volunteer Fire Department.
The funeral service for Chuck will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 7 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd in Jarratt where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow at Greensville Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Greensville Fire Department or Greensville Volunteer Rescue Squad.
