Byron F. 'Whistle" Bishop

Mr. Byron F. ‘Whistle” Bishop, 67, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis K. Gray. He was a lifelong member of Hunting Quarter Hunt Club. One could always find him hunting or at the racetrack watching Dustin race.

Whistle is survived by his son, Dustin Bishop (Donna Gilbert); daughter, Brandy Musgrove; step-grandson, Cayden Gilbert; step-dad, Joe Gray; sister, Carla Jo Harrup (Bert); brother, Steve Bishop (Marsha); half – sister, Sandra Kay Greene (Pete); nieces, Macy Harrup, Marina Harrup and Makayla Bishop, and nephew Steve Bishop, Jr.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 25 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sussex Courthouse Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 1363, Sussex, Virginia 23884.
