Beverly M. "Billy" Gordon

Beverly M. “Billy” Gordon, 72, of Jarratt, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024. He was the son of the late Thomas and Meade Gordon and was also preceded in death by sisters, Charlotte Keesee and Irene Allen; brothers, Randy Gordon, S.T. Gordon and Pete Gordon.

After an eleven-day struggle with ups and downs of pneumonia and lung disease the Gordon family, many friends, myself and kids and grandkids lost a very special part of all of our lives.   Beverly “Billy” Gordon; many called “Bro” has joined many family members that have gone on before him. Our hearts are broken, but what he gained is so precious!  He gained not only his heavenly wings, he is whole again, without all the scars from his battle with cancer and heart and lung disease.  He is now with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior having a feast that I have prayed would be waiting for him for 15 years. I have lived with him and had the honor of caring for him through each of his struggles, with the help of his brothers and sisters of whom he loved so much and can’t imagine how he has sustained through it all, but for the Grace of Jesus Christ.

Billy is survived by his wife, Cynthia R. Gordon; step-daughter, Renee’ Taboada (Mike); stepson, Jeffery O’Neal (Jeanne); step grandchildren, Gavin, Shields, Dexter and Olive; brother, Phillip ‘Buck” Gordon (Martha); three sisters, Lois Moore, Loraine Phillips and Paulette Flowers (James); sisters-in-law, Pat Gordon and Joyce Gordon and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 12 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the family will receive friends 12-2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at High Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity.
