Alice Baker Blevins

Alice Elizabeth Baker Blevins was born on April 3, 1923, in London, England.  She was the youngest of seven children.  She had four sisters and two brothers.  She met her husband, David Conley Blevins, at the beginning of WWII.  He was an American soldier, and she was a member of the British Women’s Land Army (WLA).  In 1960, they moved to the United States and finally settled in Stony Creek, Virginia.

Mrs. Blevins was preceded in death by her husband and all of her siblings.  She is survived by her son, David A. Blevins, and her other son, Barry (Dawn) Blevins; three granddaughters, Autumn (Usman) Mirza, Summer Blevins, and Skye Blevins; two great-granddaughters, Aleena Mirza and Arya Mirza; and two future great-granddaughters due in March 2023.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 22, 2022.  In lieu of flowers, please send memorial gifts to Sussex Baptist Church, 17033 Sussex Road, Stony Creek, VA 23882.  Please mark the gifts to be used for the church’s annual Living Nativity.
