James Benton Allen

James Benton Allen, 81, of Stony Creek, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Virgie Allen and son, Carl E. Allen. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Peaches” Allen; daughter, Donna Jenkins; stepdaughter, Betty Jo Waddell and husband, Buck; grandchildren, Michael Gates, Todd Allen and wife, Jessica, Kristin Still and husband, Lorren, Ashley Hatfield and husband, Derrick, Carl Gates (Wendy Oakley), Harley Jo Waddell (Trevor McHale) and Dustin Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Shaun Gates, Ashlie Still, Levi Hatfield, Summer Allen, Eli Hatfield, Wyatt Allen and Allison Gates; his brother, Lewis Allen and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 16 at Readville Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church after the services.
