David Paul Pursell

David P. Pursell, 62, of Carson, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry W. Pursell and a brother, Russell H. Pursell. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda D. Pursell; son David W. Pursell; his mother, Sarah S. Pursell; step-son, Mathew Grein and wife, Debbie; step-daughters, Jamie Buckner and husband, Dustin and Brittany Wright and wife, Krystal; five grandchildren, Charley Buckner, Jacob Grein, Brianna Grein, Benjamin Buckner and Luke Buckner and canine “granddog”, Winifred Wright; sister, Pamela Sansom and husband, Raymond, brother, Mark Pursell and wife, Yvonne; aunt, Wilberta Houck and an extended family of cousins. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 4 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to Sharon United Methodist Church.
