Oscar S. "Pee-Wee" Burton

Oscar S. “Pee-Wee” Burton, 66, of Jarratt, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016. He was the son of the late Oscar Arthur Burton and Katie Arlene Burton and was also preceded in death by brothers, Arthur Lee Burton, Gerald Wayne Burton, James “Birdie” Franklin Burton and sister, Betty Jean Burton. He is survived by his wife, Denise Hansen Burton; two daughters, Ramona Arlene Burton and husband, Pedro Reyes Casarrubias, Mary Elizabeth Burton and partner, Lee Mitchem; son, Richard Hampton Burton and wife, Alexandra Alls Burton; two grandsons, Nathanial Alejandro Casarrubias and Elisha Diego Casarrubias; a sister, Peggy Jean Runyon and husband, Richard and a large group of extended family and dear friends. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 25 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Purdy Baptist Church, 186 Smoky Ordinary Rd, Emporia, Virginia or to New Century Hospice, 420 S. Main St., Emporia, Virginia 23847.
