Burton Edward "Hawk" Grizzard

Burton Edward “Hawk” Grizzard, 80, of Capron, entered into the arms of Jesus Saturday, June 25, 2016. He was the son of the late Ollie and Sarah Hall Grizzard and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Zimmerman and Louise G. “Tudie” Bryant and a brother, Robert O. “Bobby” Grizzard. Mr. Grizzard is survived by his wife, Joanne Briley Grizzard; daughter, Joanne Elizabeth Grizzard; two sons, Edward Lee “Eddie” Grizzard and wife, Amanda of Chesapeake and Russell Timothy “Tim” Grizzard and wife, Julie of Capron; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Grizzard Crafton; a brother, George A. Grizzard and wife, Ruby of San Juan, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 29 at Capron Baptist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Capron Baptist Church, P.O. Box 273, Capron, Virginia 23829.
