Joan Mcdearmon Rainey

Joan McDearmon Rainey, 78, of Emporia, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Born October 6, 1936, the daughter of the late Harry and Jeanette McDearmon, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James P. Rainey, Sr. and daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Rainey Allen “Beth”.
She is survived by her son, James P. Rainey, Jr. “Jim” and wife, Ellen; two granddaughters, Kathleen Crowder (Dwayne) and Mary Fulks; six great-grandchildren, Sarah Crowder, Dyson Crowder, Elijah Crowder, Katelyn Fulks, Benjamin Fulks and Avery Fulks. She also is survived by her brother, Lacy McDearmon, Jr.
A memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, September 25 at First Presbyterian Church of Emporia. A reception with the family in the church fellowship hall will immediately follow the service.
