Annie Winfield Clarke

Annie (Anne) Winfield Clarke 88, peacefully passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late William Russell Winfield and Florence Mayes Winfield; she was preceded in death by her husband, Ribble Carpenter ( R.C. ) Clarke. A lifelong member of Sappony Baptist Church; she enjoyed cooking, gardening, and working with her family on the farm and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved to be with her family. Anne is survived by her daughter, Faye Spiers (Robert); son Ray Clarke ( Linda ); four grandchildren , Mark Spiers (Betty); Neal Spiers (Crystal); Carl Clarke (Christie), and Sarah Gunn (David); seven great – grandchildren , Adam Spiers, Hunter Spiers, Austin Spiers, Tyler Spiers, Miranda Clarke, Kevin Gunn and Ryan Gunn. The family thanks Anne’s devoted caregivers, Sharon Reynolds and Frances Ouwlo. The wonderful support of our Hospice of Virginia team is greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Monday, July 6, 2015 at Owen Funeral Home , 303 S. Halifax Road , Jarratt , VA 23867 where the funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 7 at 11:00 AM at Owen Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, South Prince George , VA 23805.
