Dorothy Frye

Dorothy Frye, 86, of Yale, widow of Linwood Frye, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015. She is survived by one son, Rusty Frye; seven grandchildren, Kathryn Aponte, Vicki Shiver, Jaime Elder, James Frye, III, H. Lewis Frye, Amanda Frye and Justin Frye.; nine great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one on the way; a brother, Perry Lewis and wife, Rebecca of Carson and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Frye was preceded in death by one son, James Linwood Frye, Jr. and a sister, Virginia Elmore and a brother, Julius Lewis. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 9 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd in Jarratt. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 10 at Antioch Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sussex Courthouse Volunteer Fire Department.
