Morris Conway Driver, 86, beloved husband, father, PaPa, brother and uncle passed away peacefully in the home surrounded by family on Thursday, November 13, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Ferguson Driver, whom he both loved and admired all of his life. He is also survived by his five children: Earl Conway Driver and wife, Susan of Richmond, VA. Morris Conway Driver, II and wife, Lynn of Capron, VA, Glenn Patterson Driver and wife, Pam of Halifax, NC, Greg Timothy Driver of Emporia, VA and Alma Dee Driver Rhodes and husband, Bryan of Rocky Mount, NC. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. M.C. was a quiet man with much wisdom. He was a self taught musician and gifted in his ability to play the guitar. He passed that love and gift down to his children and grandchildren. M.C. was a man of hard work, principles, perseverance and God’s word. He found much fulfillment working in his yard planting beautiful flowers. He was always willing to help someone in need or feed extra mouths at the table with his famous fried chicken. He finished out each of his days with reading of God’s word. He was loved, respected, and admired by his children. There will be an empty part within each of their hearts, along with many fond memories. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, November 16 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia with interment to follow at Forest Hills Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests that all visitation be at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 12:30. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Virginia, 1700 Bayberry Ct, Richmond, Virginia 23226.
