Vernon Freeman Murr

Mr. Vernon Freeman Murr, 60, of Emporia, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Frances Murr; son, Jerry Leonard “Dink” Draper, III and wife, Toni; granddaughters, Hannah Draper and Elizabeth Hasty; sister, Janice Lawson and husband, Jim; brother, Jeffrey Murr and wife, Gloria and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, November 13 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt where the family will receive friends 5:30 – 8 prior to and following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 310 N. Main St, Emporia, VA 23847 or to Grace Community Fellowship Church, 8014 Little Lowground Rd., Emporia, Virginia 23847.
