Amy Parham Turner

Amy Parham Turner of 15330 Loco School Road, Stony creek, VA, entered into eternal rest at Southside Regional Medical Center, on October 25, 2014, after a brief illness. She was born to the late Clayton E. Parham and Annie B. Givings Parham on March 5, 1933. She was baptized as a young child, and believed in God all her life. She sought comfort in Jesus’ teachings throughout her life. She spent most of her adult life in Brooklyn New York, where she completed her education. She retired as a psych-nurse from Kings County Hospital, Brooklyn, NY, after 38 years. Upon retirement, she relocated to her family homestead in Stony Creek, VA. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Willard “Little Pip” Stith, Sister Carrie Mason, Bother Hilton Parham and a devoted niece Marva Parham. Left to cherish her memories are: two daughters, Barbara Jean Stith of Washington, DC and Debra T. Robinson, of Stony Creek, VA.; one grand-daughter, Fatia R. Broussard (Kio); two great-grandsons, Keyindric and Kyven Broussard, all of Stony Creek, VA; one brother, Oliver T. Parham; two sisters, Rev. Albertine W. Mason of Petersburg, VA, and Effie P. Moore of North Dinwiddie; two nieces, Audrey Mason and Amelia Owens Covington (Raymond) of Stony Creek, VA , two nephews, James C. Parham of Petersburg, VA, and Triestly Massenburg of Mechanicville, VA; one great-niece, Amanda Williams of Richmond, Virginia and one great-nephew, Shaun Richardson of Stony Creek; a great-great-niece, Nyemia Elliott , devoted cousin Irene Mason and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at Jerusalem Baptist Church 12492 Kientz Road, Jarratt, VA, on November, 1, 2014 at 11am. Her remains rest at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd in Jarratt where viewing is available 9am - 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Jerusalem Baptist Church, 12492 Kientz Rd., Jarratt, Virginia 23867.
