Lucy Harrell Wilson

Lucy Harrell Wilson, 77, of Emporia, widow of Lawrence E. Wilson passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013. She is survived by her son, Kenneth R. Wilson; her daughter, Connie W. Taylor and husband, Franklin D. Taylor; grandson, Jeremy Bradford Wilson; granddaughter, Brandy Lynne Wilson; great-grandson, Joseph Joyner; three sisters, Shirley Williams, Paige Gay and Joyce Nowell; a brother, Melvin Harrell and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late Rufus and Sallie Harrell and was also preceded in death by a brother, Rufus Harrell, Jr. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 15 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd in Jarratt where the family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Emporia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Gentiva Hospice, 2801 Boulevard, Suite G, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
