Barbara M. Wilson

Barbara M. Wilson, 71, of Emporia, widow of Robert J. “Bobby” Wilson, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Joan W. Sasser and husband, Tony; three grandchildren, Crystal V. Jones and husband, Daniel of Colonial Heights, Holly S. Blackwell and husband, David of South Hill and Lane Sasser; four great-grandchildren, Nicole Sasser, Carter Blackwell, Reed Blackwell and Davon Sutherland; two sisters, Janie M. Brown and Lorrell Wilson and husband, Bobby, all of Emporia and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Mrs. Wilson’s home. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 7 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd. Jarratt, Virginia 23867. Interment will follow at Emporia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Purdy Baptist Church, 301 W. York Dr. Emporia, VA 23847 or to Greensville Volunteer Rescue Squad.
