Marva A. Parham peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 15, 2013. Jesus came and quietly told Marva, your work is completed here on earth. Come home, my dear and faithful servant. Marva A. Parham, born January 21, 1954, was preceded in death by her mother, Carrie Bell P. Mason; two brothers, Melvin L. Parham and Faitha T. Parham and grandmother, Annie B. Parham. Marva leaves to cherish her memory her son, Shaun E. Richardson of Texas; sister, Audrey M. Mason of Stony Creek; brother, James C. Parham of Petersburg; niece, Amanda Williams; great-niece, Nyemia P. Elliott of Richmond; three aunts, Effie P. Moore of Petersburg, Amy P. Turner of Stony Creek and The Reverend Albertine Wyche Mason of Petersburg; uncle, Oliver T. Parham of Stony Creek; close friend, Samuel Williams of Petersburg, cousins, Barbara Jean Stith of Washington, D.C. ,Triestly Massenburg of Henrico, Amelia O. Covington, Celestine Givens and Debra Robinson, all of Stony Creek who she grew up with and a number of other cousins and dear friends. A graduate of Sussex Central High School, class of 1972, Marva retired as Staff Sergeant with the U. S. Army after 20 years of service. Her remains rest at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where visiting will be 12-5 p.m. on Monday, March 18, and where a memorial service with full military honors will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013.
