Rosalind Yates Owen

Rosalind Yates Owen, 80, of Jarratt, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013. A Sussex County native, she was the daughter of the late Guy Hamlin Owen and Bessie Powell Owen. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Owen Temple. Survivors include three sisters, Mary Jane Simmons, Oretha Owen Tillery and husband, Cecil, all of Sedley and Vivian Owen Dunn and husband, Carrol, Jr. of Yale; three brothers, Glenn H. Owen and wife, Joyce of Alabama, Guy Benjamin Owen and wife, Judy and Thomas B. Owen and special friend, Etta Mae, all of Jarratt and a numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday, February 24 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd in Jarratt. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday February 25, at Centenary United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Owen Family Cemetery.
