Mamie Ferguson Driver

Mamie Ferguson Driver, 90, of Emporia, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013. Preceded in death by her husband, David Clifton Driver, Sr. and a daughter, Nancy Driver Lee; she is survived by two daughters, Shirley D. James (Ed) and Tena Marie Driver; one son, David Clifton Driver, Jr. (Joyce) and a son-in-law, Bob Lee; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as “Mar-Mar”. Mrs. Driver is also survived by four sisters, Ruby F. Pearson, Bettie F. Veliky, Erma F. Vincent, (Arnold) and Avis F. Frazier, (Gene) and a brother, Melvin L. Ferguson. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 28 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, VA 23867 where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 29. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
