Marie Bass Turner

Marie Bass Turner, 98, widow of Warren E. Turner, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012. She was a member of Fountain Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Ethel Turner Gordon (Oscar), grandchildren, Donna Staton (Danny) of Lawrenceville, GA, Robert Gordon (Josie) of Grizzard, VA, Linda Allen (Stoney) and David Gordon of Emporia, VA. She had 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sally M. Turner, Lila Lee Turner, Dorothy Bass, Geraldine Bass, all of Emporia and Helen Bass of Skippers, VA and two special nieces, Jeanette Pulley and Brenda Powell and numerous other nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the Eugene H. Bloom Retirement Center for the exceptional care for the past 12 years. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the home of Mrs. Turner’s daughter, Ethel. A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Greensville Memorial Cemetery.
