William F. "Billy" Powell

William F. “Billy” Powell, Sr., of Jarratt, died Monday, December 17, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Beckie” Powell; two sons, William F. “B. J.” Powell, Jr. and Brian Scott Powell; stepson, Tucker Redd, all of Emporia; one brother, Robert “Bobby” Powell of Medford, NJ. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd., Jarratt, Virginia where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice Support Group of Southside Virginia, 412 Ingleside Ave, Emporia, Virginia 23847.
