Garland S. Yeattes

Garland S. Yeattes, 80, of Emporia, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife, Barbara T. Yeattes; three sons, Michael K. Yeattes, Alan W. Yeattes (Anne) and Mark W. Yeattes (Mary Jane); one daughter, Debbie B. Vincent (Tony); seven grandchildren, Taylor Burke (Ashley), Kelly Burke, Blake Vincent, Samantha Harrell (Adam), Mark Yeattes, Jr., Mary Elizabeth Yeattes and Sarah Yeattes; one great-granddaughter, Vera Madison Burke; two sisters-in-law, Nancy M. Yeattes and Nora T. Short; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt where the funeral service, led by Pastor Barry Chambers will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Interment will follow at Rock United Methodist Church Cemetery in South Brunswick. Honorary pallbearers will be Alfred Hobbs, Mallory Parrish, Danny Lewis, Donnie Clements and Jesse Grizzard, Jr. Active pallbearers will be Mark Yeattes, Jr., Tommy Poarch, Taylor Burke, Bobby Jordan, Jesse Yeattes and randy Jordan.
