Todd Taylor

Shelton Todd Taylor, 70, of Emporia, widower of Judy Robbins Taylor died Wednesday, September 5, 2012. He is survived by one son, Christopher Todd Taylor and friend Warren Tillar; granddaughter, Meredith Taylor and brother, Dean Taylor and wife, Shirley. Mr. Taylor and his wife, Judy were owner/operators of numerous service stations and towing services in the Emporia-Greensville area. He was an Honorary Member of the Emporia Volunteer Fire Department where he had served for over thirty years. Mr. Taylor was also an avid civil war enthusiast and had an extensive knowledge of the local history of that period. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia 23867. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment at Emporia Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Emporia Volunteer Fire Department, 209 Halifax St, Emporia, Virginia 23847.
