Richard L. "Dick" Owen

Richard "Dick" L Owen., 83, of Wilson, North Carolina died Thursday, May 24, 2012. Dick was born in Virginia and educated at Virginia Military Institute. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and went on to retire from Imperial Tobacco Company and then worked ten more years with the City of Wilson. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Wilson Elks Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Jane Royal Owen; daughters, Elizabeth S. Falgout (Roy) of Atlantic Beach, Lynda Owen of Raleigh, and Kathryn O. Fluta (Mark) of Wilmington; grandchildren, Michelle Elizabeth Smith of Raleigh and Owen Smith of Greenville; five granddogs, a great-granddog; and sister, Mary Anne O. Cole (Miller) of Richmond, Va. The family received friends at Wilson Memorial Service in Wilson, NC 6:30 to 8 p.m Tuesday, May 29, 2012. A graveside funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Owen Family Cemetery in Sussex County, Virginia.
