Carlton "Jiggs" Blythe

Carlton R. “Jiggs” Blythe, 86, of Emporia, widower of Janice Bryan Blythe died Monday, April 9, 2012. He is survived by three sons, Carlton R. Blythe, Jr. and wife, Cecelia, Ricky Blythe and Raymond Blythe; one daughter, Marie Pierce and husband, Ronnie; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; devoted friend, Hazel Murrell and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Blythe was the son of the late Collin and Ethel Blythe and was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Blythe Lynn and a brother, Rudolph Charles Blythe. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012. Interment will follow at Murrell Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family sugsests memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army or to Samaritan Helping Hands Home, Emporia, Virginia.
